In order to accommodate continued growth and provide a more employee-centric environment, the North America operations of Amadeus, a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the global tourism and travel industry, is relocating its Waltham, Massachusetts technology research & development center and business offices.
Amadeus North America, Inc. has signed an agreement for 56,000 square feet on the third floor of 1050 Winter Street at Boston Properties’ Bay Colony in Waltham. Studley, the leading global commercial real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation, maintains a long term relationship with Amadeus and represented the company in the transaction.
“Having outgrown our current location, we were looking for space that allowed for continued expansion while offering an open work environment fitting for the collaborative nature of the software and technology industry,” said Scott Gutz, President and CEO, Amadeus North America. “The move provides a fresh, new location as we springboard toward future growth in Boston and in serving the needs of our travel industry customers in the U.S. and Canada as well as across the global travel industry.”
Amadeus currently occupies 27,000 square feet at 307 Waverley Oaks Road, with plans to move into the new space in 2014. Studley’s Bruce Schuman, a Senior Vice President, led the transaction with assistance from Mark Cote of T3 Advisors. The building was represented by Jason Fivek and Matthew Murray of Boston Properties.
According to Schuman, the competitive environment for employee talent was a key driver to Amadeus’ decision on Bay Colony: “Amadeus needed cutting-edge space that could enhance the company’s brand recognition and support retention and recruitment efforts. The new amenities and increased branding opportunities offered at Bay Colony meet these needs while providing the necessary workspace for a growing company. ”
With over 60 offices worldwide, Studley is well positioned to advise corporations globally. The firm opened its first Boston office in October 2013 at 53 State Street and rehired veteran Mark D. Stewart to lead operations throughout New England.
