Studley is pleased to congratulate Executive Managing Director Jeff K. Shrago for being named the # 1 Washington, DC Private Sector Leasing Agent of the Year and the # 1 Regional Private Sector Leasing Agent of the Year for DC, Maryland and Virginia by the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington, DC (CREBA).
Since joining Studley’s Washington, DC office in 1975, Jeff has negotiated more than fifteen million square feet of real estate transactions on behalf of corporations, trade associations, not-for-profit organizations, and law firms throughout the United States. He specializes in transactions relating to the acquisition, development and leasing of commercial real estate, and has been involved in some of the region’s most prestigious projects and assignments.
In 2013, Jeff restructured 475,000 square-feet of leases on behalf of a not-for-profit organization. This unique transaction involved the disposal of approximately 220,000 square-feet despite the fact that 7.5 years remained on the lease, resulting in an estimated savings of $60 million.
This is one of many occasions Jeff has been recognized for excellence by his peers in the real estate community. Most notably, he was presented the highly coveted “Transaction of the Year” award three times prior, including for his work in 2007 with the Academy for Educational Development, Inc. on a 337,000 square-foot lease restructure, expansion and renewal. He was also awarded this honor in 1997 for his work on behalf of the New York based law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, LLP in a 139,000 square-foot lease restructure and renewal. Prior to that, Jeff received the award in 1987 for his work on behalf of the Washington, DC based law firm Hogan & Hartson, LLP, involving a 600,000 square-foot development of Columbia Square with the Hines organization.
Jeff was presented the # 1 Washington, DC Private Sector Leasing Agent of the Year award and the # 1 Regional Private Sector Leasing Agent of the Year Award for DC, Maryland, and Virginia at CREBA’s annual award dinner on April 9, 2014.
