Exelon taps Studley to search for new Constellation headquarters

Exelon Corp. has hired a Washington, D.C., real estate firm to help it scout downtown Baltimore for a new Constellation Energy Group Inc. headquarters.

Commercial real estate brokerage Studley reached out in recent days to Baltimore real estate leaders and downtown building managers with a “request for information” on available space, according to a document obtained by the Baltimore Business Journal. Exelon has pledged to build or substantially renovate a new headquarters for Constellation after the two companies merge. Exelon (NYSE: EXC) and Constellation (NYSE: CEG) announced a $7.9 billion merger deal in April and plan to close it by first-quarter 2012. ...

... Studley has distributed a survey seeking information on downtown sites, including their size, condition, zoning, any asking purchase price, and any plans for future development. Exelon spokeswoman Judy Rader confirmed that the company has tapped Studley. ...
