KMD Realty Advisors (KMD) founders Red McCombs, Bart Koontz and Marshall Davidson, Jr. have announced that their firm has formed a strategic alliance with Studley, the premier international tenant provider of corporate tenant representation services and, that KMD will rebrand itself as KMD Studley. KMD Studley currently has offices in San Antonio and will open its Austin office late this year.
"Our partnership with KMD enables us to accommodate our clients' increasing need for services throughout Texas and is an integral component of our strategy to deliver Best-in-Class tenant representation services throughout the U.S. and world," said Studley's Steve Biegel, Co-Manager of Studley's Houston Office.
KMD Studley's Managing Principal Marshall Davidson explained, "We are a unique hybrid. We're a specialist firm rather than a full service firm. We represent quality credit tenants (but not buildings) and we represent sellers of valuable properties. We are a Texas-owned firm focused on the Central Texas Metroplex from Georgetown in the north to South Bexar County with an unparalleled global network that comes from our new alliance with Studley. And opening our Austin office significantly enhances our current coverage of the fastest growing tech and entertainment center in the U.S."
Davidson continued, "We know that important national and international companies with solid credit ratings are coming to Austin and San Antonio and, even more excitingly for us, we know that our great Texas companies are expanding into markets across the world. With KMD Studley offices in Austin and San Antonio and Studley's offices in Houston and Dallas, across the U.S. and in Europe and Asia, our firm can serve clients coming into the Central Texas market as well as clients in Central Texas who are growing nationally and internationally."
Bart Koontz, CEO of Koontz McCombs LLC, added, "We organized our firm around Marshall's leadership to advise sophisticated clients on significant real estate transactions. From the beginning, we planned to be in both Austin and San Antonio and to ally with a leading international firm so that we could serve our clients wherever they do business."
"Marshall and his team of advisors have built a repeatable business even before this deal with Studley. Injecting process, institutional memory and a clear direction and priority on a business normally devoid of such things has made KMD operationally profitable year-to-date in a difficult economy. The Studley brand and the highest credit tenants coupled with the opening of our Austin office is an exponential game changer. I love their philosophy: 'Fewer clients and uncompromising advocacy equals return business,'" said Red McCombs.
Since its founding in early 2012, KMD has been active across the Central Texas Metro, representing significant development tracts in Austin, Kyle, New Braunfels and San Antonio, where it also represented tenants in two of the larger office and industrial leases this year. The firm's experienced principals have previously represented national and international clients including many of the world's most recognizable companies: Chevron Texaco, HP, Shell Oil Company, Six Flags Theme Parks, Inc. and Wells Fargo.
