Law firms to take former Haskell Slaughter space at Park Place Tower
September 23, 2014

Birmingham's Park Place Tower has two new tenants.

After suffering a major blow when the former law practice Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker dissolved and moved out of the 13 th, 14 th and 15 th floors of the building, recovering the occupancy at the 2001 Park Place high rise has been a challenge.

West Harris, executive vice president of Harbert Realty Services, confirmed two new law firms and the expansion of an existing firm will soon account for two of those three floors.

Bressler Amery & Ross, a law firm that recently entered the Birmingham market, will occupy the 15 th floor of Park Place, which is 20,000 square feet. The firm will bring 50 to 60 employees to the central business district when it opens Dec. 1.

Rumberger Kirk & Caldwell, an established firm that hired multiple attorneys from Haskell Slaughter, will be moving from its 2204 Lakeshore Drive location to occupy 12,000 square feet of the 13 th floor at Park Place.

The firm will move into its space on Nov. 1.

Hand Arendall, a current tenant in the building, will be expanding its footprint by 8,500 square feet on the 13 th floor.

Harris and Harbert Realty Services negotiated the leases on behalf of the landlord.

Jones Lang LaSalle Commercial Real Estate represented Bressler Amery & Ross, and Savills Studley represented Rumberger Kirk & Caldwell.
