Buck buys D.C. office building from ABA

A fund of the John Buck Co. bought a Washington, D.C., office building from the American Bar Assn. in a sale/leaseback. The Chicago-based ABA said it sold the 175,000-square-foot building at 740 15th St. NW, a block from the White House. The ABA, which said it uses 40% of the building, has the option to lease back its space through August 2013. Chicago-based Buck plans to renovate the property, according to the ABA, which bought it in 1994. The ABA and the broker for the lawyers group, Studley Inc., did not disclose the price. ...
