Studley Promotes Four Professionals in Midtown

International commercial real estate services firm Studley just announced the promotion of four professionals based at the firm’s Midtown Manhattan offices. John A. Mambrino, Howard M. Simson, Erik Schmall and David J. Providenti were all promoted to executive managing director from their former titles as senior managing directors.
John A. Mambrino
A 20-year Studley veteran, John A. Mambrino (46) is a principal of the firm and one of its top producers. His expertise includes developing and implementing strategic plans as well as in providing full-service tenant representation to clients throughout the NY metro area. His clients include Giorgio Armani, K&L Gates, Lukoil, Shiseido Cosmetics and UniCredit.
Mr. Mambrino is a member of REBNY and in 2004 was elected to REBNY’s Commercial Brokerage Division’s Board of Directors. He is a graduate of Villanova University, having earned a BA degree in economics.
Howard M. Simson
A seasoned commercial real estate professional, with more than 30 years in the industry, Mr. Simson (55) joined Studley in the spring of 2006.
Prior to joining Studley, Mr. Simson spent 24 years with Cushman & Wakefield and was consistently among the firm’s top 100 producers. He was a recipient of C&W’s Service Achievement Excellence Award and was awarded the firm’s Breaking All Barrier Financial Achievement Award. In 2006, SL Green recognized Mr. Simson with the Most Significant Green Deal Award for the 165,000-square-foot lease at 1372 Broadway for Ross Stores. Three years later, Mr. Simson represented Ross Stores in its expansion and lease extension exceeding 200,000 square feet. In 2008 he represented American Language Communication Center in a long-term lease of 65,000 square feet at 229 West 36th St. for its New York City school facility, and AXA Rosenberg in its California headquarters lease renewal and expansion for 118,000 square feet.
Mr. Simson is a member of REBNY, the 23rd Street Association, Young Adult Institute Advisory, Pediatric Cancer Society and Young Men’s/ Women’s Real Estate Association of New York. He attended the University of Miami, graduating with a BA degree in psychology and chemistry.
Mr. Schmall (44), a 15-year Studley veteran, focuses on advising a portfolio of clients across a broad range of industries, including legal, private equity, education, and the FIRE sectors (finance, insurance, and real estate).
Among his notable transactions is the 205,000-square-foot lease in Lower Manhattan for the Willis Group, a 23-story office tower build-to-suit at 871 United Nations Plaza for the German government, the largest build-to-suit for a foreign government in Manhattan; and the nearly 500,000-square-foot lease at 60 Broad Street for the State of New York, which in 1996 was the largest transaction in downtown New York. Prominent clients include Bain Capital, Oxford University Press, The New School, Leerink Swann LLC and Towerbrook Capital Partners.
He graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany with a BS degree in accounting and he also earned an MBA in finance from Baruch College.
David J. Providenti
Mr. Providenti (40) joined Studley in 2003 and soon became a part of the firm’s Corporate Services Group, where he and his teammates are responsible for the delivery of strategic and financial services to Studley’s national corporate and professional services clients. Such services include the planning, financial modeling and engineering, structuring and implementation of all phases of the transaction process. Among the clients served by the group are Western Digital Technologies, WellPoint, Inc., Comcast Entertainment Group and Pacific Life.
Prior to joining Studley, Mr. Providenti was a vice president at KeyBanc Capital Markets where he specialized in providing merger and acquisition capital markets and general corporate/investment banking advisory services to both public and private middle market companies. Earlier, he was a manager in the Merger & Acquisition Consulting Group at Deloitte & Touch, LLP.
An attorney, Mr. Providenbri, is admitted to both the New York State and New Jersey Bar Associations. He is an active member of the Down Syndrome Research and Treatment Foundation and the New York Road Runners Club. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Hofstra University School of Law and a BS degree in finance from Lehigh University.
