United Airlines parent mulls HQ move to Willis Tower

The parent company of United Airlines is considering leaving its headquarters building on the Chicago River and moving its corporate offices to the Willis Tower, home of a huge operations center the airline plans to open this spring.
United Continental Holdings Inc. is seeking tenants to fill the 250,000 square feet it leases at the United Building, a 51-story tower at 77 W. Wacker Drive, sources say. ...

Because United's floors are on the lower half of the building, some view-seeking tenants such as law firms could be less enthusiastic about the space, says Rick Schuham, a Chicago tenant rep for New York-based Studley Inc. But the tower could benefit from a lack of large chunks of Class A space.
“The floor plates are a little small and it's a little darker on the lower portion of the building,” Mr. Schuham says. “But there's not a lot of large blocks of space out there. It's a Class A building. Based on the migration of tenants, it's a solid location.” ...
