Morton Salt plans to move its headquarters late next year to a 52-story office tower under construction along the Chicago River, bringing together 300 downtown employees and another 50 coming from Oak Brook.
Chicago-based Morton today confirmed a Crain's report in April about its move to River Point, a high-rise under construction at 444 W. Lake St. in the West Loop. Morton said it signed a 16-year lease for two floors in the building, totaling 52,600 square feet.
Its 300 headquarters employees, currently at 123 N. Wacker Drive, and another 50 customer service center workers in Oak Brook will move to the new tower in December 2016, the company said.
“This is an exciting time in our history because the new headquarters location will truly reflect the Morton Salt of the future,” CEO Christian Herrmann said in a statement. “Our new headquarters space will be modern, open and high-tech, which we believe will ignite a more energized, innovative and collaborative workplace environment that our employees desire and deserve.”
