Tenants Saved by the Recession

The depressed state of the city's real estate market is allowing a cluster of bedding and home furnishings companies to sleep a lot easier at night.

 Pacific Coast Feather Co., a manufacturer of down bedding, and Bardwil Industries, a maker of fine kitchen and bath products, recently renewed their leases for 14,000 square feet at 1071 Sixth Ave. for 10 years. The asking rent was $46 per square foot for Pacific Coast's space and $39 per square foot for Bardwil's space, but both paid well below that.  ...
