Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation, announces that distinguished professionals Susan Kurland, David Gialanella and Victoria Oliva have joined its New York City headquarters office, further bolstering the company’s retail services.

Susan Kurland joins Savills Studley as Executive Vice President and Co-Head of Savills Studley’s Global Retail Services Group. She will work closely with the company’s retail leadership teams in North America, EMEA and Asia Pac to expand the Savills brand worldwide. Kurland specializes in representing major retailers to develop and execute real estate strategies in New York and in major cities throughout the globe. She is the recipient of numerous industry awards, including the Real Estate Board of New York’s “Deal that Most Significantly Impacts a Neighborhood” award and the “Most Creative Deal of the Year” award. Kurland, who most recently served as Executive Vice President of CBRE’s New York Tri-State Region Retail Services Group, was regularly recognized as one of the firm’s leading retail brokers. Prior to CBRE, Kurland worked as Executive Director with Cushman & Wakefield’s retail group in New York.
David Gialanella joins Savills Studley’s Global Retail Services Group as Executive Managing Director, based in the New York Office. With over 30 years of experience within the industry, Gialanella has held senior leadership roles at Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE and DTZ. During his 20-year tenure at C&W, Gialanella held a number of global positions and also served on the firm’s Board of Directors and Global Management Committee. He also served as the operating executive for C&W’s New York Region and led C&W’s national retail group as Executive Vice President. During his seven years at CBRE, Gialanella held senior management positions including serving on the Tri-State Region Management team, working with the Americas Brokerage leadership group, leading the New Jersey business and running the Global Transaction Management operation within CBRE’s Global Corporate Services function. At Savills Studley, Gialanella will focus on building the multi-market, cross-border business, working closely with the Global Retail Services Group and New York leaders to develop new clients and to expand existing relationships.
Victoria Oliva joins Savills Studley’s Global Retail Services Group as Managing Director. Oliva will focus her efforts on providing consulting, advisory and transaction services as part of the Savills Studley Global Retail team. Oliva previously served as Senior Associate at CBRE, working under the direction of Susan Kurland where she developed local, national and global retailing strategies for multi-national organizations. Prior to joining Susan, Oliva played a leading role within CBRE’s retail research division as a Research Analyst. Oliva’s market-trend research reports, combined with her extensive work in consumer behavior and buyer segmentation analytics, have earned numerous mentions in the national and international press.

The new hires come closely on the heels of Savills Studley’s significant expansion of its North American operations, highlighted by the establishment of four new offices in U.S. and the opening of the company’s first office in Canada, as well as the acquisition of several key new hires and services lines across the country.
Bill Bauman, based in Savills Studley’s Los Angeles office, has also been named Co-Head of Savills Studley’s Global Retail Services Group alongside Kurland. Bauman, who joined the firm in 2009 as Executive Vice President, leads a full service West Coast-based team offering a wide range of services including national retail tenant representation, retail land planning, developer consultation and investment sales. Together, Bauman and Kurland will focus on growing the company’s retail platform in the U.S. while working closely with Savills retail leadership globally.
