The East Bay office market continues to lag with only a few bright spots such as downtown Oakland. Office vacancy climbed during the second quarter with very few tenants moving in or expanding.
“We’ve seen a number of large deals completed recently, but most were renewals,” said Jennifer Collins, a broker with Studley in Walnut Creek. “I would expect we will see some new space come on the market.”
Space availability shot up to 17.5 percent during the second quarter this year, up from 12.5 percent last year, according to research from Studley. . . .
