Suburban Washington, DC (April 2, 2012) - William Quinby, executive vice president and branch manager of Studley's Suburban Washington office, will moderate a panel at this week's InterFace Student Housing Conference in Austin, TX.
The annual event, which will take place April 3-5th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, is expected to attract more than 580 executives representing 320+ firms from all facets of the student housing industry. Attendees will participate in a series of high-level panel sessions featuring leading industry figures discussing topics ranging from investment, development, financing, leasing, marketing, operations, and management.
Mr. Quinby, who brings more than 32 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, will be moderating a panel titled "Trends in On-Campus Housing and the Outlook for P3 Deals Post UK/EdR." The panel will feature industry leaders Tom Trubiana, Executive Vice President and CIO, Education Realty Trust; Jamie Wilhelm, Executive Vice President/Public-Private Transactions, American Campus Communities; Michael Baird, Director, RBC Capital Markets; and Joe Coyle, President, University Student Living. The panel will focus on the evolution and current status of on-campus student housing in the US and the outlook for these transactions following the University of Kentucky's partnership with Education Realty Trust to privatize its entire on-campus housing stock.
As the founding member of Studley's Education Practice Group, Mr. Quinby manages a team of 10 professionals out of the Washington, DC region focused on serving the strategic, financing, transaction and project management needs of colleges, universities, K-12 and owners seeking to develop projects within the education sector.
To date, he has participated in real estate transactions totaling in excess of 31 million square feet. Mr. Quinby's background in architecture, development and project financing for tax exempt and taxable developments has led to his success advising public and private sector clients in the development of more than 21 build-to-suits to date.
Some of Mr. Quinby's notable transactions include the planning and development of George Mason University's faculty, staff and graduate student housing development on its main campus in Fairfax, VA; planning and development of Sallie Mae's 250,000-square-foot headquarters in Reston, VA; George Washington University's 325,000-square-foot business school headquarters, residential and parking facility; the development of a 600-acre, 3 million-square-foot campus for California State University in Camarillo, CA and a 250,000-square-foot build-to-suit headquarters for SPX Corporation in Charlotte, NC.
