Relevent, a full service experiential agency specializing in strategic and creative development, branded entertainment, event production, and digital and social media for lifestyle clients including Victoria’s Secret, Renaissance, Diageo, Jeep, and William Grant & Sons, is relocating its New York City headquarters to 10,095 square feet on the top floor of 10 Hudson Square, international commercial real estate services firm Studley announced today. The move represents a near tripling in size.
Relevent, which operates under the MDC Partners (NASDAQ: MDCA) umbrella, will join four of its sister companies at the building. They are: Attention, a data-driven social marketing and communications agency; Kwittken & Company, a boutique public relations firm; Vitro, a creative advertising agency; and Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, a strategic marketing agency that creates modern engagement platforms to drive growth for its clients. Kirshenbaum has been headquartered at 10 Hudson Square since 2001 and is the largest tenant at the building.
Studley has historically represented MDC and its agencies in the company’s growing space envelope at 10 Hudson Square. With the addition of Relevent, MDC agencies will now occupy a total of 111,288 square feet at the 350,000-square-foot property under a long-term lease held by Kirshenbaum.
Relevent, which is relocating from 27 West 24th Street, will occupy the 10,095-square-foot space on a portion of the building’s 12th floor beginning in the spring of 2012. The space was previously home to Chung King Studios, the famed rap and hip-hop recording studio where well-known artists like LL Cool J, the Beastie Boys and Run DMC have all laid down tracks.
“With its large, arched windows, high ceilings and dramatic Hudson Square views in three directions, this space is appropriately unique for a company as inventive and creative as Relevent,” said Studley Executive Managing Director Daniel Horowitz, who negotiated the lease on behalf of the tenant. In addition, Mr. Horowitz said, “Studley was very pleased to secure a location that gives Relevent the extraordinary opportunity to cross-pollinate and collaborate with its new MDC neighbors at 10 Hudson Square, while taking advantage of all that this burgeoning neighborhood has to offer.”
10 Hudson Square is a premiere Class A office building that was converted from its former use as a warehouse/printing facility by Trinity Real Estate more than a decade ago. A recent building retrofit created a striking new entrance and attended marble lobby with 24/7 access, in addition to new restrooms, new windows and new HVAC systems. Trinity was represented in-house by Tom Lynch in the transaction.
