The board’s eight members represent a range of professional expertise in the fields of science and technology, including nanobiotechnology, agriculture and biotechnology. The group meets regularly to provide guidance, influence and growth opportunities for NC COIN and its members.

Established in 2009, NC COIN is a charitable organization based in Greensboro dedicated to growing North Carolina’s economy by connecting innovative companies, researchers and other entities involved in science and technology. Led by Joe Magno and Terri Zaczyk, NC COIN aims to be one of the premier sources of networking opportunities, information and tailored innovation services.

“I am so pleased to join such an accomplished and respected team of executive leaders and influencers to further the mission of NC COIN,” said Spritzer. “North Carolina has an actively engaged scientific community, and our goal is to create opportunities for members to connect across silos, innovate collaboratively and accelerate business and groundbreaking ideas. I look forward to working closely with the group, Board of Directors and organizations.”

Spritzer is a commercial real estate expert specializing in representing corporate end-users, both tenants and owner-occupants. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Carnegie-Mellon University, a juris doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law and the esteemed Certified Commercial Investment Management certification. “Like our constituency, our Board reflects a diversity of thought and experience in life and material sciences, as well as a commitment to promoting economic development and improving the human condition,” said Magno, executive director, NC COIN. “Marlene’s distinctive experience in science, law and real estate brings immediate value to our members and expands the capabilities of the Board. We are excited to welcome her to the NC COIN team.”
