Savills Studley, the leading global commercial real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation, has been named as one of the top 100 finalists in the 2014 Crain’s New York Business “Best Places to Work in New York City” survey. The final rankings will be published in the publication’s December 8, 2014 issue.
Winners are chosen based on the results of an employee survey conducted by Crain’s New York Business in partnership with Best Companies Group. Introduced in 2008, the study is the first ever conducted to determine the most desirable companies to work for in New York City. Savills Studley has been consistently recognized as a leading company by Crain’s, making the list for a sixth time.
The award caps off a significant year of growth and transformation for the company, which included Studley’s successful merger with London-based Savills plc, a substantial step that represented a major milestone for both firms and their clients.
“This important recognition is especially rewarding given the historic year we have had as a combined company,” said Savills Studley CEO Mitchell Steir.
“We’ve always prided ourselves on tenacious client advocacy and exceptional service, and now as part of an international firm we are able to better serve the needs of our global clients. Our professionals are entrepreneurial, innovative, ambitious individuals and this award highlights the firm’s dedication to helping them be successful while having fun.”
From quarterly in-office cocktail parties and birthday celebrations, to its much-anticipated annual holiday gala, Savills Studley drew attention for its team-oriented environment and various programs for employees to build relationships and camaraderie. For example, the firm’s top producing brokers and many senior-level executives receive an all-expenses paid winter trip abroad, which incorporates the location's culture, provides networking opportunities, and often involves a community service element. Past locations have included Panama, Australia, Venice, China, Japan and Costa Rica.
Similarly, Savills Studley sets itself apart from other organizations by way of its philanthropic initiatives, hosting numerous annual corporate giving programs across the nation. Savills Studley is active in Commercial Real Estate’s Women's (CREW) network and partnered with the organization to develop its Leadership Academy, a series of annual programs and events that provide professional training, leadership skills, and continuing education to women in the industry. Beyond supporting a meaningful organization, Savills Studley initiated this relationship as a vehicle to help recruit a diverse workforce. Savills Studley is also a member of Catalyst, a leading nonprofit membership organization working globally with businesses to build inclusive workplaces and expand opportunities for women in business. The company contributes to not-for-profit organizations nationally and locally, including Lee National Denim Day, The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, Habitat for Humanity, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and numerous others.
This year’s top employers hail from New York’s diverse sectors, including advertising, accounting, engineering, law, real estate and technology. Answers from a confidential employee survey, which included questions about benefits and policies, were combined with scores from an employer survey, to establish the Top 100 rankings.
