Studley Names Two Rookies of the Year
Bie Chu Lee and Michael Mathias Win This Years Honor at Summer Outing

At this year’s summer outing in San Francisco, international commercial real estate services firm Studley announced two recipients of the Rookie of the Year award—Bie Chu Lee (32)of the firm’s Washington, DC office and Michael Mathias (25) in the firm’s New York City office.

With an MBA from Northwestern and seven years at Accenture under his belt, Mr. Lee joined Studley as an associate in August 2009, and was an immediate asset to his team, led by Studley veterans Art Greenberg, Tom Fulcher, David Lipson, and Julie Rayfield.  He specializes in financial structuring and strategic planning and development for corporations, law firms and nonprofits. 

Mr. Lee is a member of the Urban Land Institute and participates in its Young Leaders Mentor Program.  He was also a former team captain for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk.

Mr. Lee is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. 

Mr. Mathias, who joined Studley in 2007, works closely with his team members—Executive Managing Director Erik Schmall and Corporate Managing Director Scott Weiss.  He has been instrumental at winning new business, as well as handling all aspects of the team’s transactions.

Some of his recent deals of note include representing  Leerink Swann & Company in its 41,000-square-foot lease at 1251 Avenue of the Americas; Scopia Management in its 11,000-square-foot lease at 152 W. 57th Street; and Madison International Realty in a 14,000-square-foot lease at 410 Park Avenue.

He previously worked for Stratix, an equity long/short hedge fund and JNK Securities. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and a minor in art history from Vanderbilt University.
