Ward North American Announces Expansion To DC Region
Studley Secures 64,539 SF Lease For Moving Company At 23000 Ladbrook Drive In Dulles, VA
Washington, DC (March 15, 2010)
Ward North American, the nation's premier provider of moving and storage services, announced today that it will expand its business into the Washington, DC region by opening up its seventh national location in Dulles, Va. The moving company signed a 10.5-year, 64,539-square-foot lease at 23000 Ladbrook Drive in Dulles, VA, according to its real estate advisor, Studley.
"This is a location that perfectly matched our selection criteria. The new facility in Dulles allows Ward to continue to provide seamless and cost-effective relocations for many corporations having a physical presence in the D.C. area and, of course, the US government as well,” said Ward North American President Kevin Ankenbauer.
The $8 million investment is expected to bring an estimated 50 jobs into Loudoun County.
“Ward North American is a welcome addition to Loudoun County’s growing business community,” said Board Chairman Scott K. York. “This announcement highlights the benefit of Loudoun’s unique offering of varied business corridors which provide a broad range of real estate product types unlike any other jurisdiction in the region. We proudly welcome Ward North America, and look forward to participating in their continued success and growth as members of the Loudoun County business community.”
Studley Associate Director Adam Schindler and Executive Vice President and Co-Branch Manager Paul Schweitzer represented Ward North American in the transaction. Caulley Derringer and Stephen Beggs represented the building landlord, Northwestern Investment Management Company.
The San Antonio-based moving company selected the new location based on its access to major transportation routes and proximity to its growing corporate client base and traditional government traffic.
Ward is currently in the process of selecting an experienced staff of personnel to guide the Dulles, VA operation with the assistance of the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development. According to Ankenbauer, Ward plans to be fully operational in its Dulles location by April 1, 2010.
