David Gialanella has over 30 years of experience in the real estate services business. He began his real estate career at Cushman & Wakefield where is spent 20 years supporting its business in numerous different roles, including head of Global Services where he oversaw a variety of functions, including research, marketing, Corporate Communications and IT. Mr. Gialanella led the initiative to elevate the Cushman & Wakefield brand internationally and established the firm’s first overseas venture. He also led the firm’s retail business in the Americas. Mr. Gialanella was a member of Cushman & Wakefield’s Board of Directors, Global management Committee and Joint Initiative Board with its European partner.
Following his tenure with C&W, Mr. Gialanella spent 7 tears at CBRE where he was a member of the New York region management team and had responsibility for managing the New York Retail function. He also served as the operations person for the Americas Brokerage Group and oversaw CBRE’s New Jersey operation and ran CBRE’s Global Transaction Management group for several years. After leaving CBRE, Mr. Gialanella joined DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) to run the firm’s Northeast region where he oversaw the eastern Region Tenant Representation business following the firm’s merger with Cassidy Turley.
Now, at Savills Studley, Mr. Gialanella works closely with the company’s retail leadership teams in North America, EMEA and Asia Pac to expand the Savills brand worldwide. The retail team has expertise in all aspects of real estate strategy development, ranging from locational and demographic analysis to complex financial structuring. The Savills Studley approach ensures each retail tenant’s real estate transactions are fully aligned with their business needs and brand positioning goals.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gialanella spent a year at Studley in a brokerage support role. Prior to his career in real estate, Mr. Gialanella held various roles in the management consulting business in NY and Washington, DC.
Mr. Gialanella, along with his wife Kathleen (an attorney and former nurse) are active supporters of nursing education. They sponsor several scholarships annually to nursing students in need of financial support through the New Jersey League for Nursing
Mr. Gialanella has a Bachelor’s of Arts in History from Seton Hall University. He also has a Masters in City and Regional Planning from Catholic Univerity’s College of Architecture and an MBA in Finance from Manhattan College.
