David Sutton is Studley’s resident Geographic Information Systems Specialist. David helps meet the diverse GISand mapping needs of Studley’s clients by offering transportation analysis, site selection studies, demographic mapping and a range of other GIS services. Integrating data from many sources, he provides the bird’s eye view that gives Studley’s real estate advisors their unique edge.
He provided his unique skills to Studley’s National GIS Services department from its New York Headquarters for three years. His experience mapping and analyzing the unique geographic patterns of Southern California became so extensive as to warrant the permanent integration of his services specifically to Studley’s Downtown Los Angeles office. He works closely with clients and advisors to provide highly customizable analyses specific to the needs of each project. He has worked with Studley’s retail, industrial, business, legal and financial services groups to provide specialized analyses on many of Studley’s most complex transactions in the Southern California region and nationwide.
David comes to Studley from the Center for Analysis and Research of Spatial Information, a grant funded research institution specializing in large scale GIS conversion, mapping, and site location. While there he worked on a broad array of assignments, from locating public schools in Queens to mapping archeological sites in Morocco and establishing wildlife sanctuaries in Thailand. He was also a GIS analyst for New York City Transit and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
David holds a B.A. in urban planning and geography, an M.A. in geography and has completed post graduatecertification in GIS, all from Hunter College.
