David Thomas joined Savills Studley in September 2015 as a Corporate Managing Director part of the National Retail Services Group. Prior to joining the firm, David worked with JLL since 2012 as Senior Vice President, leading the company’s emerging Los Angeles Retail Group, where he was instrumental in building a full-service retail practice group. Earlier in his career, David worked for Regency Centers from 1997 to 2009 as a Senior Leasing Representative for one of the nation’s largest and most prolific shopping center developers. In addition to working directly for Regency Centers, David has also represented other prominent national shopping center developers such as Cypress Equities, Lincoln Property Co, GE Capital, Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (formerly RREEF), and Vestar Development Co, Having participated in the development and leasing of more than 10 million square feet of retail space, David lends his expertise to all phases of the retail development process including site identification and acquisition, market research, entitlements, leasing, and disposition.
David has found success representing retailers as well. David and his team represented national tenants such as Amazon, AMC Theaters, 24 Hour Fitness, T-Mobile, Dollar Tree, HSBC Bank and CycleBar.
Consistently a top performer, David has been recognized repeatedly by the firms for which he has worked. In 1998, 1999, 2002-2007, he was the Top Leasing Agent at Regency Centers. Prior to joining Savills Studley, David was the top retail broker for JLL in Los Angeles from 2012 to 2015.
David received a Bachelor of Science in finance from Texas Christian University.
