Derrell Curry serves as Executive Vice President and Branch Manager of Savills Studley’s Houston office. With nearly 30 years of experience representing large corporations with their commercial real estate needs, Derrell has established himself as one of the top commercial real estate brokers both locally and nationally.
Throughout his distinguished career, Derrell has completed more than 19 million square feet of office lease transactions and has negotiated some of the largest leases ever completed in Houston. Derrell leverages his extensive experience to produce innovative real estate strategies which enable his clients to enhance their bottom lines and maintain flexibility.
Derrell’s diverse client list includes leading engineering firms, consulting firms, aerospace companies, biomedical companies, financial services firms and technology companies. As an expert in the development and implementation of occupancy strategies for major public companies, Derrell services public and private organizations where real estate costs and operations are a critical financial driver. His specialties include strategy planning, acquisitions, dispositions, financial structuring, incentive negotiations, operations analysis and lease negotiations.
Prior to joining the firm, Derrell was senior vice president of corporate services at CB Richard Ellis, where he was a national top producer.
Activities & Achievements
Derrell has been named Houston Office Leasing Broker of the Year by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and earns annual recognition from the Houston Business Journal as a commercial real estate “Heavy Hitter” and “MVP.” Derrell serves on numerous civic associations and boards and has held the offices of both treasurer and president of the Houston Office Leasing Brokers Association (HOLBA). In addition, he serves as an active member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, where he has leadership roles in numerous committees and ministries.
EducationDerrell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business with an accounting emphasis from the University of Houston.
