With more than 25 years of experience working in commercial real estate development, Ed has managed the operations and development projects for leading public and privately held organizations including Valencia Development Company, JP Morgan Chase, Trammell Crow, the City of Boston, and Graeber, Simmons & Cowan. His depth of knowledge and experience is only rivaled by his breadth of experience, encompassing a variety of property categories—office, retail, hospitality and education. As a managing director with Savills Studley’s national Project Management Services group, Ed is responsible for coordinating all phases of construction—from strategic planning to on-site execution.
Prior to joining the firm, Ed served as project development manager for the Valencia Development Company, where he oversaw the development of five hotels with an aggregate development budget of more than $359 million. His responsibilities included evaluating sites for development—preparing cost-effective budgets, letters of intent, purchase and sales agreements—and coordinating project funding. He also managed the renovations and upgrades to existing properties; led design teams from programming through construction and devised and executed the process to hire outside vendors.
Ed also spent 17 years at JP Morgan Chase, first as a project manager then as a vice president of real estate business, where he developed a new $57 million operations campus $1 million under budget and ahead of schedule. The scope of his projects ranged from ground-up construction and base-building infrastructure upgrades to interior improvements.
Ed received his Bachelor of Science in architectural studies from the University of Texas at Austin
