Gary Stein is an executive vice president and co-regional manager in Savills Studley’s Washington DC office. A 27-year veteran of the industry, he advises commercial tenants within the DC metropolitan area while also counseling clients on corporate real estate transactions throughout the United States.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Stein spent nearly five years as the managing principal of Cresa Washington, DC, an office he opened in 2008. While at Cresa, he was responsible for several of the firm’s most notable transactions in the region including the National Association of Manufacturers’ 42,000-square-foot lease; Business Roundtable’s 26,000-square-foot lease; National Democratic Institute’s 57,000-square-foot lease; and Davis Polk & Wardwell’s 21,000-square-foot lease.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Stein has successfully completed more than 500 transactions totaling 7.5 million square feet of office space on behalf of law firms, trade associations, non-profit organizations and corporations in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. His roster of local and national clients includes the American Society for Microbiology, Hollingsworth LLP, Faegre Baker Daniels, the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States and Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker, P.A.
Prior to becoming a tenant advisor, Mr. Stein practiced real estate law at Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker P.A.
Mr. Stein received his bachelor’s degree in economics from Tulane University and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University.
