Professional Expertise

Heidi Learner serves as Savills Studley’s Chief Economist based in the firm’s New York City headquarters. In her role, Ms. Learner analyzes the macroeconomic and legislative environment affecting commercial real estate markets on a national and regional basis and develops real-time measures of supply and demand for commercial space to assist the firm’s clients in understanding the continually evolving economics of the real estate markets.

A former fixed income strategist and portfolio manager, Ms. Learner previously served as a Vice President with State Street Corporation creating quantitatively-based global fixed income trading strategies.

Prior to her time at State Street, Ms. Learner was a Bond Portfolio Manager at MEAG New York Corporation where she directed interest rate trading for Munich Re’s $38 billion portfolio of assets. Ms. Learner, who began her career at Salomon Brothers, also worked as an Associate Director at Barclays Bank and as a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase.

A Chartered Financial Analyst, Ms. Learner has an in-depth background in macroeconomic analysis and forecasting and has authored a paper entitled “An Examination of Transparency in European Bond Markets” for the CFA Institute.

Activities & Achievements

Ms. Learner currently serves as a board member with the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, where she sits on the organization’s investment committee and finance committee.

Education

Ms. Learner attended the University of Pennsylvania where she studied bioengineering and finance as part of the dual-degree Management and Technology program and earned a Master’s degree in Mathematical Finance from Columbia University.
