Professional Expertise

Howard has worked in the commercial real estate industry for 33 years, the last fourteen of which were with Savills Studley. An accomplished veteran real estate advisor, Howard, Vice Chairman, represents many of Savills Studley’s most prestigious clients in Manhattan on some of the firm’s most complex transactions. His client roster speaks volumes to Howard’s expertise, client service and professionalism.

Howard recently represented Time Warner in the 1.3 million square foot transaction at Hudson Yards. In addition he represented Nike, Inc in a 150,000 square-foot in a new development by the Durst organization. He has represented the New York Law School for ten years. Most recently, he finalized a multi-faceted transaction that involved acquisitions, a disposition and development to give the law school a much larger home commensurate with its reputation as a premier institution, but also enabled the school to substantially increase its endowment, enhancing its credentials overall well beyond an improved campus.

Howard was also an integral part of the team that represented Time Inc. in a 600,000-square-foot lease at Brookfield Place. He represented Goodwin Procter in its recent 247,000-square-foot lease at the much talked about New York Times Building and has represented other prestigious law firm such as McDermott Will & Emery, Wachtell Lipton, Gibbons, Manett, Phelps & Phillips and Arnold & Porter. He also represented iStar in its recent 107,000-square-foot lease at the Verizon Building – one of New York’s most followed projects.

Howard is a strategist. He facilitates the real estate process from beginning to end, including helping his clients to assemble a complete real estate team with the necessary expertise for their particular projects.

Previously Howard worked at Cushman & Wakefield where he closed leasing transactions with Chase Manhattan Bank (1166 Avenue of the Americas), MetLife (11 Madison Avenue), Rainbow Media Holdings, a division of Cablevision Systems (11 Penn Plaza) and Boston Consulting Group (430 Park Avenue).

He also worked with Jones Lang LaSalle as an executive vice president head of the northeast region and national leasing director. His responsibilities included operating the agency leasing business in the United States, which encompassed a portfolio of more than 200 million square feet in 75 markets. He was also responsible for the development of standards for the leasing of product and new business development.

Activities & Achievements

In 2007, Howard was honored by the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) with the Most Ingenious Deal of the Year award for the New York Law School deal. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the New York Law School.


Howard received an MBA and Bachelor of Science in finance from Indiana University.
