Jim joins Savills Studley from the Tier I consulting world where he brought real estate strategy and operations consulting services to help his clients uncover innovative ways to maximize the value of their owned and leased real estate assets while minimizing costs. As a Senior Managing Director in Savills Studley’s Washington, DC office, he is responsible for leading and delivering a wide range of strategy and operations focused consulting assignments addressing real estate portfolio optimization, cost reduction, technology enablement, construction project consulting, business strategies, asset management, and operational process improvement solutions for our clients. Jim’s background in architecture, technology, and process improvement has led to his success advising public and private sector clients on local, national, and international portfolio management issues.
Jim brings over 30 years of real estate management and technology experience focusing on real estate strategies and operations with Tier I consulting firms including Deloitte Consulting, Booz Allen Hamilton, and BearingPoint. Serving both public and private sector clients, including several Fortune 100 companies and most Cabinet level Departments of the US Government, Jim employs a combination of process re-engineering, performance improvement, leading practices in facilities strategies, operations, management, and decision support technology to arrive at solutions that address his clients’ real estate and facilities management needs.
Some of Jim’s recent client engagements have addressed multiple, complex management issues including full life cycle real estate asset management; business process re-engineering; organization re-design; performance measurement; and real estate management technology upgrade projects for both Federal Agencies and commercial real estate management entities. He has also helped several clients assess the operational and financial benefits of implementing Alternative Workplace Strategies, identifying significant operating cost reduction opportunities while creating workplace environments that fully support today’s more collaborative and mobile workforce.
Activities & Achievements
In 2014, Jim was inducted into the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors as a Fellow, the highest level of membership. An international distinction, the RICS ‘Fellow’ status, or FRICS, is earned by those who have played a key role in shaping and contributing to the profession.
Additionally, Jim serves on the Board of Advisors for Georgetown University’s Graduate School of Continuing Studies’ Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate program. As a Board member, Jim works with other leaders in the real estate industry to help lead students and alumni into an increasingly global marketplace of new opportunities.
Jim holds his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Master of Architecture degrees from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He has also attended The Strategic Leadership Workshop at Yale’s School of Management and the Designing for Adaptive Re-use at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
