Jay joined Savills Studley in 2012 as senior managing director. He brings nearly four decades of experience in the construction management industry and has completed more than 14.5 million square feet of building projects, most of which are in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. His roster of notable work includes design and construction management for a number of prestigious commercial projects including Columbia Square, Franklin Square, Postal Square and Gannett World Headquarters.
At Savills Studley, Jay is responsible for oversight and management of all aspects of project management, design and construction services for base building projects. As one of the DC area's most sought-after experts in base building applications, Jay draws upon his professional experience in real estate development, general contracting and architecture in order to provide management services for the firm's largest and most complex assignments. Over the years, he has developed a strong track record of delivering projects on time and under budget and in accordance with client plans and specifications.
Prior to joining the firm, Jay was a vice president of construction for Hines, where he spent 28 years.
Outside of the office, Jay is an active member of the Washington Building Congress, where he has been a past Chairman. He is also involved in a number of community associations committed to helping neighborhoods and advancing the arts in Washington DC.
Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in Mathematics and Physics from Carleton College. He attended the University Of Minnesota School Of Architecture before starting his career in design and construction management with Dayton-Hudson Properties in 1973.
