John was recruited by Savills Studley in 2003 in the role of chief operating officer to complement and enhance the firm's new management structure. His previous experience as president of Urban Data Solutions, a software company that develops 3D computer models for real estate and telecommunications companies and government, allows Savills Studley to capitalize on his extensive technological and marketing expertise.
John began his career in strategic planning at Swiss Bank and progressed into the role of project manager for the construction of its $200 million North American headquarters building. He left Swiss Bank to join the Edward S. Gordon company, where he served in a variety of increasingly important roles. After running the firm's property management division, he was named chief information officer, and then chief financial officer.
After the acquisition by Insignia, John served on Insignia/ESG's executive committee and directed the integration of six firms, including companies in London, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.
John received a Bachelor of Science in finance and management from NYU and a M.S. in business from Stanford, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
