With more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, Joseph Genovesi is one of the most knowledgeable and respected real estate professionals in New York City. Joseph combines tenacious client advocacy with a deep understanding of tenants’ needs to provide the most compelling economic real estate solutions to organizations across all industries.

Joseph is recognized for his strong contact base in New York, nationally and globally, as well as his transactional expertise in investment sales, sale leasebacks, distributions, property management, manufacturing and site acquisitions with over 7 million square feet in commercial real estate transactions. The entirety of his experience allows him to bring a valuable perspective that results in innovative, strategic solutions for his clients. Joseph has successfully managed and improved national and global portfolios for companies of all sizes. Notable transactions include work on behalf of Ipreo, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, JC Flowers, St. Vincent Hospital, Regeneron, StriVectin, Bliss Spa and Matomy.

Prior to joining Savills, Joseph was the Founder and CEO of commercial brokerage DG Hart Associates during which time his lead team won the 2001 NY Real Estate Deal of the Year award. Joseph was also appointed to the NAI Global Real Estate Board and hosted the NAI Global annual NYC conference bringing together national and international senior commercial real estate professionals. The strength of the DG Hart Associates led to a successful sale of the company to NAI Global. This tenure provides a unique point of difference for Joseph as he has an intimate understanding of the corporate real estate decision-making process; a recognized asset for his clients. Having owned his own firm, he has an intimate understanding of the corporate real estate decision-making process. Earlier in his career, Joseph worked at Cushman & Wakefield and the NYC Housing Partnership.

Awards, Achievements and Activities

Joseph has served on the seminars committee for the Real Estate Board of NY, and is a member of the ICSC. He is the co-chair of the Xavier Business Council and participates with the Children’s Health Fund, Open Door Family Medical Centers, the POTS Food Distribution organization and the advisory board of the Shalom Center for Conflict Resolution in East Africa.
