Professional Expertise

Since 2006, as national program director, Julie has led Savills national leasing account with the US General Services Administration. Her Washington, DC- based transactional work includes the US Department of Justice, US Customs and Immigration Department, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Federal Election Commission and the Social Security Administration. Julie was also involved in the International Trade Commission lease and Nuclear Regulatory Commission. In addition to her leasing work, Julie has also conducted several specialized studies for GSA including the ‘Streamlining and Best Practices: An Evaluation of the Capital Construction Program’ for the GSA PBS Office of Design and Construction.

Also since 2006, Julie has been responsible for Savills national account with the US Department of Veterans Affairs for lease acquisitions of build-to-suit medical outpatient clinics and land acquisitions. She completed the negotiation of a ground lease on VA’s behalf with Texas Tech University, a build-to-suit lease acquisition for their Lubbock Outpatient Clinic and an assignable option to purchase 30 acres of unimproved land for the VA Tallahassee Florida Outpatient Clinic. She also negotiated an assignable purchase option for 40 acres of unimproved land for the Kernersville Health Care Center and the build-to-suit 20-year lease for the 353,000 square-foot Healthcare Center ($261,000,000 in aggregate lease value).

In addition to her work with the US General Services Administration and US Department of Veterans Affairs, Julie has also worked with US State Department and the Federal Housing Finance Agency, who she most recently represented with its 339,000 square foot headquarters consolidation in Washington, DC. Julie’s work in the private sector has included the representation of National Public Radio. For her and her team’s work, received the Washington Business Journal ‘Deal of the Year’.

Awards, Achievements and Activities

Julie is a published author with John Wiley & Sons of New York, as well as a member and former trustee of the National Building Museum. She was also named ‘Broker of the Year’ by the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal, declared ‘Most Influential in Real Estate’ by Bisnow, recognized as a ‘Power Broker’ by CoStar and testified on Capitol Hill before the US House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
