Kunihiko (Key) Otomo became a member of the Savills Studley team in July 2003 when a group of real estate professionals from Insignia/ESG Inc. joined forces with Savills Studley, strengthening the firm’s tenant representation platform. He specializes in developing and implementing strategic planning and tenant advisory services and has structured and implemented some of New York region’s most complex transactions.
Mr. Otomo has represented many prestigious organizations throughout his career including Sumitomo Corporation of America with its headquarters relocation to 300 Madison Avenue, at which the international conglomerate leased 98,454 square feet. He also represented Bulgari Corporation of America in its leasing of 23,933 square feet for its U.S. headquarters facilities at 625 Madison Avenue. Mr. Otomo represented SMBC (Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation) in its lease buyout of 116,500 square feet at 101 Park Avenue. Some of Mr. Otomo’s recent assignments include Fujitsu Network Communications Inc.’s lease restructure at 2 Blue Hill Plaza, Pearl River, New York for 61,679 square feet, Mizuho Trust & Banking Company USA’s lease of 44,790 square feet at 135 West 50th Street, and Quadrant Capital Advisors, Inc.’s lease restructure for its 11,588 square foot facilities at 499 Park Avenue.
He began his real estate career at Edward S. Gordon Co. Inc. where he worked for 13 years and was named a Managing Director, subsequent to its acquisition by Insignia Financial Group in 1997.
Mr. Otomo is a member of Real Estate Board of New York, Inc. As a 2nd degree Black Belt, Mr. Otomo teaches and participates in fundraising efforts for various charities on behalf of Kyokushin Karate.
Mr. Otomo earned a Master of Arts in Political Philosophy from New York University.
