Mr. Magazine joined Savills (now Savills Studley) in 2011 to be its Executive Managing Director of the Hospitality Group. Before joining the firm Mr. Magazine was a Principal of Humboldt Hospitality Advisors, LLC, a full service Hospitality company that he co-founded with Tom Baker and Justin Magazine. Before forming Humboldt, Mr. Magazine was Senior Vice President with CB Richard Ellis and led its Hotel Partners division in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. In this capacity, Mr. Magazine provided hospitality real estate advisory services to owners, developers, lenders, hotel chains, operators and governments. He assisted clients in economic and market-based consulting, financing, investment analysis, venture structuring, management selection, contract negotiation, and strategic planning. In recent years, Mr. Magazine has closed over $4 billion in hotel transactions.

Mr. Magazine’s hotel experience began when his family owned the Hay Adams Hotel and as General Manager, Mr. Magazine had the hotel accepted as a Leading Hotels of the World. Mr. Magazine is a third generation real estate professional in the Washington, DC area. Before specializing in hospitality industry, Mr. Magazine had been involved in some of the most notable commercial and residential transactions in the metropolitan area, winning the Washington Business Journal Best Real Estate Deal Award for both Best Office and Residential transactions.

Activities & Achievements

Mr. Magazine is currently a member of the faculty of Georgetown University for the Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate, teaching the Hotel Valuation course. Mr. Magazine is on the National Advisory Board of National Jewish Health and is past President of the Board for Big Brothers of Washington, DC.

Education

He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree at the University of Denver and a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin.
