Michael Broome

Professional Expertise

Michael Broome is a corporate managing director in the Savills Atlanta office. A corporate real estate advisor with a deep analytic background, Michael is entirely focused on developing a tailored approach for each client. He has completed in excess of five million square feet of transactions throughout Atlanta and the United States. Primarily, Michael helps clients understand the oftentimes unique aspects of lease economics and advise them on available workarounds which best match their use of space against cost. Since joining the firm in 2000, he has represented a number of the larger companies and professional firms in the Southeast with a strong emphasis in the legal and financial industries.

Throughout his career, Michael has spent substantial time helping clients with mitigation of landlord credit risk. His understanding of the leasing exposure and debt factors constantly at play has been valuable to not only strengthen negotiations, but to identify which ownership groups and ownership structures will make the right landlord for the long haul so the tenant can focus on their business.

Michael has also advised clients on a number of less traditional transactions such as sale-leasebacks, credit driven build-to-suits, investment purchases and purchase options, dispositions, and REIT exchanges. Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked as a former Soviet states analyst at Stratfor, a geopolitical intelligence and consulting firm in Austin, Texas.
