Ness is Executive Managing Director of Savills Studley's Los Angeles regional headquarters and head of the firm's Building Industry Practice Group, which specializes in representing firms in the design, development and construction communities. With his strong financial background and extensive experience in strategic planning and portfolio management, Ness assists corporations with all aspects of their real estate transactions, including lease negotiations, build-to-suits and consolidations due to mergers and acquisitions. In his career, Ness has personally negotiated leases in over 133 office markets across the United States and Canada.
Prior to re-joining the firm in 2011, Ness spent 10 years at Cushman & Wakefield, where he was an Executive Director of the West Los Angeles office. He also served on the firm's National Broker Advisory Committee and founded and co-chaired the Building Industry Group.
Ness began his career in 1990 at Indivest, Inc., a Los Angeles hi-rise office developer, where he was responsible for the preparation of financial and feasibility analysis for potential commercial developments and the management of tenant improvement construction. In 1992, Ness joined First Property Realty Corporation as an associate specializing in the leasing and sale of commercial real estate. He originally came to Savills Studley in 1996 as part of the firm's National Accounts Group. During his first five years at the firm, Ness managed national accounts totaling more than 9.5 million square feet and was involved in over 1 million square feet of commercial office space negotiations in Los Angeles.
Activities & Achievements
While at Cushman & Wakefield, Ness was consistently recognized as one of the Top 100 brokers in the firm nationwide and was honored multiple times with the Chairman's Circle Achievement Award (2002, 2004, 2005 & 2008) and the President's Award (2003 & 2007). Ness is an avid golfer, aviation enthusiast, and is a licensed private pilot.
Ness graduated from California Polytechnic University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management.
