With 19 years of GIS experience, Jennifer (Nif) is the head of Savills Studley’s in-house geographic information systems (GIS) group and focuses on research, development and implementation of new processes and products. She provides administration, management, training and tech support for Savills Studley’s GIS software and demographic services. Nif primarily supports the East Coast and international brokerage teams and has worked with many groups within the company including the Occupier Services, Retail, Industrial, Critical Facility and Analytics teams, in addition to providing customized support of clients on behalf of brokers. Using data from many public and paid sources, she creates a number of custom, data-driven collateral including interactive web maps, labor studies, demographic reporting, employee impact studies, transportation analysis, site selection studies, and demographic mapping and location allocation studies.
Before joining Savills Studley Nif worked as a project manager at a start-up software company that pioneered the production and internet deployment of attributed 3D digital buildings models of major US cities. Models were used for line of sight analysis and in GIS systems and used by leading Real Estate, Telecommunications, Government and Media companies. She has worked as a GIS Analyst at the US EPA and the USGS and began her career as a civil engineer with Parsons Corporation working on highway and transit design projects.
Activities & Achievements
Throughout her career at Savills Studley, Nif has made a number of substantial contributions to the GIS team. By centralizing GIS products and processes, she helped to improve analysis quality and product resulting in the team nearly tripling its output. She has also developed proprietary hot spot analysis for "best location based on employee residence" and was instrumental in the development of a transit time analysis tool and analysis.
Nif graduated with a Master’s of Science in civil engineering degree from Purdue University (Geodesy, GIS, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing) and a Bachelor’s of Science in civil engineering from Virginia Tech (VPI&SU).
