Professional Expertise

As executive vice president and co-branch manager of Savills Studley's Washington, DC office, Rick brings more than 27 years of experience representing tenants within the DC region. Over the years, he has advised a wide variety of associations, non-profit organizations, law firms and corporations throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. Rick has represented a long list of prestigious clients, including Hogan & Hartson LLP, C-SPAN, The National Association for the Education of Young Children, The American Association for the Advancement of Science and Sutherland. Prior to joining Savills Studley, Rick spent 18 years as Chairman and CEO of The Rome Group (now known as Cresa Partners), a Washington, DC based real estate advisory firm that he founded to specialize in tenant representation. Rick has extensive experience assisting non-profits with leasing, acquisitions and build-to-suit developments. Rick represented C-SPAN in leasing up to 75,000 square feet on several occasions over the last 25 years, AAAS in developing a 200,000 square foot headquarters and NAEYC in the acquisition of an 80,000 square foot building. He also represented Hogan & Hartson LLP in negotiations for a 550,000-square-foot lease in Washington, DC along with several other leases nationally and internationally.

Activities & Achievements

Rick serves as a member of the leadership team for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of CoreNet Global (the premier association for corporate real estate professionals). He is also a member of the Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors (GWCAR), the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA), the American Society of Association Executives and the Center (ASAE) and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. Rick has served as the Chairman of GWCAR's Commercial Leasing Committee and was also member of its Professional Standards and Ethics Committee. In 1994, he received the "Distinguished Sales Associate of the Year" award from the association. Rick is an active supporter of the Global Fund for Children and the National Partnership for Women and Families among several other organizations.

Education

Rick received his Bachelor of Arts in government from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and holds his brokers licenses in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
