As a Senior Managing Director in Savills Studley’s Miami office, Roy brings more than 20 years of experience as a workplace strategist, architect and corporate real estate executive. His areas of expertise include office/workplace strategy, sustainability, energy usage, business process and change management. To date, he has been involved in more than 11 million square feet of real estate transactions including four of the largest U.S. corporate mergers during the 1990’s (MediaOne, US West, AT&T, Comcast, Time Warner and Continental Cable). His experience includes portfolios ranging from 2.0 million square feet to those with more than 100 facilities within the corporate, law, communications, education and healthcare sectors.
Prior to joining the firm, Roy worked for Accenture and was CEO of Jova/Daniels/Busby, Inc., an architectural and strategic planning firm where he was a part of the re-branding and workplace strategy for companies including Andersen Consulting, Accenture, MediaOne and AT&T.
Outside of the office, Roy is a sought-after lecturer on workplace performance, business architecture and the future of facilities performance. He is a registered Architect in 20 states and Canada and is NCARB certified. He has been awarded more than 30 design, energy performance and architecture awards for his research and client work. In 2007, he was the recipient of the American Institute of Architects “Young Architects Award.”
Roy holds a Master of Architecture from North Carolina State University. He also holds two Bachelors of Science degrees in Environmental Design and Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University. In 2000, he was awarded the American Institute of Architects’ Richard Upjohn Fellowship.
