Completing more than 750 transactions valued at over $1.5 billion in his 30-year real estate career, Terry has skillfully managed complex real estate requirements for clients to help accomplish short- and long-term corporate objectives. He specializes in developing and implementing strategic real estate plans for clients that complement their priorities. Through his expertise, he has helped some of Chicago’s largest corporations, including American Family Insurance, Career Education Corporation, GE Financial Assurance, Motorola and Wilson Sporting Goods, minimize occupancy costs, maximize flexibility and minimize risks related to budget, schedule and liability.
Terry also acts as Co-Chair of Savills Studley’s Higher Education Practice Group and has represented career education schools in over 200 transactions totaling over 4 million square feet of transactions. His clients have included American Intercontinental University (AIU), AIU online, Bryant & Stratton, Colorado Technical University (CTU), CTU Online, Career Education Corp. (CEC), Delta Career Education, Higher Learning Commission, Le Cordon Bleu, Lincoln Education, Miller Motte Technical College, University of Phoenix and Westwood College .
Prior to serving as a real estate advisor, Terry served as a manager of real estate for Northwest Airlines and as a project manager for Ellerbe Beckett Architects and Engineers.
Terry is a member of the Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association (COLBA). In 1995, he received the first ever COLBA award for the “Most Effective Tenant Representative” in Chicago. In 2003, he was honored as a Chicago “Broker of the Year” by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. In 2005 and 2007, he was nominated again as a “Chicago Broker of the Year.”
Terry serves on the Board of Directors for RISE International, a Chicago based charity that builds primary schools in rural Angola. From 2004-2008, he served on the Board of Trustees for Colorado Technical University from and was chairman of the Governance Committee.
Terry is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering degree with honors and earned an MBA in finance.
