Professional Expertise

Tom Johnston is Senior Managing Director at Savills Studley’s Phoenix office, where he brings over 18 years of experience in commercial real estate. Tom focuses his efforts in the Greater Phoenix area, leveraging his strong business expertise to provide clients with a macro perspective of how real estate should complement their overall business goals.

Prior to joining Savills Studley, Tom held executive positions for Cushman & Wakefield, PhoenixMart LLC. and Voit Real Estate Services. During his time with Cushman & Wakefield, Tom expanded Cushman & Wakefield’s reach in Arizona by creating a formal alliance with PIOR Commercial in Tucson and directed the integration and collaboration of all services line within the global company.

Throughout his career, Tom has represented over 175 tenants, landlords, sellers and buyers of commercial office properties and secured lease premises in excess of 2M square feet. He has also represented several building owners and developers on existing and new development projects including: Lowe Enterprises, Kitchell Development, The Presson Companies, Property Reserve, Inc., Gerding/Edlen Development Company, Hart Advisors, Tosco Marketing Company, Apollo General Contracting, CMD Realty Investors, Koll Development, Birtcher Arizona, Orsett Properties, DMB and Hines.

Activities & Achievements

Tom is an active member of NAIOP, ULI, Phoenix Community Alliance, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Canadian Arizona Business Council. He is the 2015 Chair and current board member of NAIOP AZ and a past board member of GPEC and ULI. Tom has won numerous awards and recognition throughout his career.


Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Columbia University.
