Ken Ruderman, a 25-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, who is widely admired by his colleagues for his team leadership, mentoring ability and creative brokerage skills, has been promoted for the fourth time in his 14-year career at Studley to executive vice president/co-branch manager of the firm’s New York City office.
The announcement of his promotion was made by Mitchell S. Steir, Studley chairman and CEO, who noted in an internal message to the firm, “Ken is one of our most perennially productive brokers, possessing an ability to lead and inspire. He’s been performing as a co-branch manager for many years, enthusiastically leading our branch and senior broker meetings, making this promotion all the more ‘as-of-right.’ We congratulate him on this recognition and wish him continued success at Studley.”
Since joining Studley in 1996, Mr. Ruderman has been one of the leading producers in the New York City office and has represented clients in transactions exceeding five million square feet. He is known as an out-of-the-box thinker who takes leasing transactions to another level with creative strategies and innovative ideas.
Among Mr. Ruderman’s recent noteworthy deals are URS’s 100,000-square-foot lease at One Penn Plaza and Wieden & Kennedy’s 60,000-square-foot lease at 150 Varick Street. He has also directly represented several companies with their New York City headquarters leases, such as Caxton Associates at 500 Park Avenue, New Mountain Capital at 787 Seventh Avenue, and iStar Financial and Oak Hill Advisors at the Grace Building.
Prior to Studley, Mr. Ruderman was one of the top performers in CB Commercial’s New York City office (before the firm became CBRE in 1998). He began his career at The Edward S. Gordon Company, where he was one of the youngest brokers ever hired in the history of the firm.
At REBNY, Mr. Ruderman has sat on West Side / Penn Plaza District Committee and the Plaza District luncheon meeting panels.
With his children, Mr. Ruderman recently launched jerseysforjersey.com, a charity that collects and donates sports apparel and other clothes to disadvantaged school children. The organization will distribute the clothes collected to inner-city children throughout the state of New Jersey for Christmas.
Mr. Ruderman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and economics from George Washington University.
