Savills Studley represented leading global flooring company, Gerflor, in its recent expansion and renewal of office and industrial space at 595 Supreme Drive in Bensenville, IL, becoming the building’s sole tenant at Bensenville Industrial Park. Gerflor, based in France, is the dominant global firm in the floor-covering space. Its expansion in Chicago is a sign of its commitment to the US market and its expected growth in the United States.
Gerflor approached Savills Studley to advise them in dramatically expanding their U.S. distribution channels, starting with its space in Chicago, according to Mike Mangan, associated director for Savills Studley, who represented Gerflor USA in the lease negotiation along with with Bruce McConnell, senior vice president for Savills Studley’s National Industrial Group and managing director, Renae Bradshaw, all of the Chicago office.
“Gerflor considered Savills Studley’s tenant representation-focused business model as an advantage for them in a tightening real estate market. They looked to us for our ability to provide creative and technical solutions, especially in these market conditions, as market vacancy continues to get smaller and smaller,” said Mangan. “The agreement is a true testament to the outstanding partnership between the landlord, Prologis, and our client, Gerflor USA. Prologis really understood Gerflor’s needs and worked very hard to accommodate the company’s expansion requirements.” Kevin Segerson of CBRE represented Prologis.
“We are excited to be experiencing such unprecedented market expansion in the U.S.,” Benjamin Bachman CEO of Gerflor USA added. “By increasing our space in Bensenville, we will be able to reduce production cycle time and provide products more quickly to our customers. This will ultimately allow us to continue the rapid growth plan we have for the U.S., which is our most promising market.”
