After five years in SoHo, high-end women’s fashion label Derek Lam has been lured out of its Crosby Street headquarters to a building in Midtown South.
The brand, which was launched in 2002 by Derek Lam, has just signed a long-term lease for 13,350 square feet on the eighth floor of 105 Madison Ave. The building is owned by a family business, A&R Real Estate Inc., which sought to attract a fashion, tech or media tenant to 105 Madison.
“The owners want to transform this building and needed a key player in the world of fashion, tech, media. Now that Derek Lam is there, others will definitely follow,” said Jeffrey I. Peck, a Studley senior managing director who represented Derek Lam in the transaction. What's The Deal: Fashion Firm Derek Lam Jumps to Midtown South
